'Trelawney' is nearest to Porthcumo, which has a spectacular white sandy beach and turquoise water. Here you will find the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum and the Minnack
Theatre. This is built into the granite cliffs and has performances from May to Sept.
Sennen Whitesands Beach is great for swimming and surfing. Sennen Cove is where the local Lifeboat is kept and the Roundhouse Gallery is full of paintings and crafts by local
artists.
Land's End has fabulous views and stunning scenery. It is a place with many attractions and nature trails.
Geevor Tin Mine is open all year round and includes an underground tour. In the area there are many old tin mines and evidence of this can be seen especially at Botallack where the 'Crowns'engine houses seem to balance on the edge of the cliff.
St Ives has beautiful beaches and coves, the Tate Gallery and many artists studios amongst its -jumble of quaint granite cottages and narrow streets.
Paradise Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is not far away at Hayle.
Along the South coast is Lamorna Cove, famous for the Derek and Jean Tangke novels. Mousehole, not far away is a pretty fishing village and harbour. This is where the Penlee Lifeboat came to grief when trying to rescue the Union Star. A must to visit.
Newlyn and Penzance are fishing ports. Here also are trains, buses and planes and helicopters to the Isles of Scilly. The Penlee Gallery at Penzance has many Newlyn School paintings.
St. Michael's Mount at Marazion is accessible on foot at low tide or can be reached by boat. Make sure you wear sensible footwear as the paths to the castle are steep and cobbled.The beach is great for windsurfing.
This is just hi the immediate area. Not too far distant are many beautiful gardens and Nat Trust Houses to visit. Also children's entertainment such as Trereife, Paradise Wildlife Sanctuary and Flambards.
For walkers, the Cornish coast paths and scenery are spectacular. Every bend has a different view, all beautiful. The coast path passes through many small coves and fishing villages rarely seen from a car. Penberth, Porthgwarra and Nanjizel are nearby. Ideal for bird watching.
